Bonsai Today / Art of Bonsai Photo Contest - Judging Results
The staff of AoB would like to sincerely thank all those who entered this contest, you have made this a very successful contest indeed! With over 15 pages of submissions consisting of over 200 entries from around the world, you have helped to set a new record for participation in an on-line bonsai contest. We received entries from AoB members, from many other forums, and from people who do not frequent Internet forums at all. As our rules did not require a person to be a member here at AoB or a subscriber to Bonsai Today, we drew in many participants from outside of the usual Internet contest circles. This allowed us to see the work of many bonsai artists that is not often seen, and some that has never been seen before!
Being the first collaboration between print and Internet media for a bonsai contest, we faced many challenges with organization, structure, judging, and layout, all of which were overcome with the help of Wayne Schoech from Bonsai Today and the hard working, mostly under appreciated, editorial staff of AoB. Thank you all for the hard work and dedication you put into this contest. Special thanks goes out to the judges of the contest, Attila Soos, Al Keppler, John Dixon, and Wayne Schoech. The unenviable task they had of judging over 200 entries was no small one. They did a remarkable job of judging the entries which consisted of many quality bonsai.
Last, but certainly not least, we would like to thank Bonsai Today for deciding to collaborate on this contest with AoB. The staff at Bonsai Today were, as always, pleasurable to work with and their professionalism as well as their enthusiasm made for a smooth and fun partnership in this contest. Although this is not the first time Bonsai Today and AoB has worked together on a project, it was certainly the largest project to date. Thank you Bonsai Today, we appreciate all you do to support AoB.
And now, on to the winners!
Congratulations to each and every winner of the contest, the choices were all tough and many quality entries just missed winning by a single point.
