Hi, this is my first post to this group.
I want to share with all of you a question about to collect or not an olive tree, because is very big and it will be very hard work to dig it up from were it is now. The rock that covers the tree is huge, more than one tone I guess.
The trunk is very attractive, with a shari along the upper side of the trunk, but the first part is too long, and the curve that describes is too perfect, it could be a good Han-Kengai if the trunk was shorter, maybe an air layering could be the solution, but I?m not sure because is very big.
I like to know your opinion about.
Regards from Spain

Hi Antoni,
Although I collect a lot of trees myself and enjoy adding to my collection in this way, we tend to keep the discussion here at AoB focused more on the artistic aspects of bonsai and not the horticultural aspects.
Your question would be given the attention it deserves on a forum that deals with these issues, may I recommend www.knowledgeofbonsai.org as I find the members there to be knowledgeable (many of which are very experienced) and the moderators there actually encourage open, intelligent, and straight to the point discussion.

Nice tree by the way, good luck,

Will Heath
