I bought this Silverberry from Khan and Kay Komei in Southern California about 30 years ago.
Height is 25 inches above the pot rim.

I enjoy this tree very much, the form is solid and the movement is outstanding.

I do not care much for the pot and I think you can find a better container for this tree.

Hi Will
I guess you're more of a traditionalist than I thought.
When I first put the Silverberry in this pot, many folks did look askance at it, but most of them came around over time. Like going from classical art to modern.
The pot was made back in the 1980's by California potter Cal Garton. I used to see Cal often at bonsai events as a vendor. Once we were next to each other in the vendors room at a convention. Most of the business we did was trading goods with each other.
Cal did some very interesting and occasionally avant-garde work, as you can see. I still have a few of his pots in my collection. Haven't seen Cal for a long time. Hope he's ok.

The new image is the Silverberry in a pot I've had on order for a couple of weeks that arrived yesterday. I just finished the repotting job.

Mike,

I am not really a traditionalist, nor did I dislike the first pot shown, I just did not think the colors worked with the tree that was in it. The pot competed for attention instead of complimenting the tree.

I am sorry to say that the second pot, in my opinion, is also not to my liking. I feel it is too shallow and does not visually support the tree. The size of the first pot was much better.
