I'm always very pleased to see a fresh gallery of kusamono here; all the more fun to see one devoted to a single a very deserving family of plants. These are all very nice, and I really like seeing the growing benches as well as the formal displays --- but of the whole lot, the first of the two Hosta 'Laceside Baby Face' is a clear favorite. The proportions and line are exquisite.
With my best regards,

Beautiful Hostas Wolfgang, thanks for allowing us to showcase your talent with these remarkable plants here.
I am curious about your statement that Hostas are not acceptable for display in a Japanese Tokonoma. Is the use of Hostas in a formal display looked down upon in other venues as well?

You can also use Hosta for presentations in the Tokonoma but not in these colored pots and better the solid green foliage and not the variegated plants.
You should look in a Tokonoma at first to the tree ...... and at last to the scroll & accent plant.

I enjoy your Hostas very much. Putting this type of plant in a pot, enhances their beauty, and when so well kept and well combined with the right type of pot, they reach further heights.
I limit my self to have a big container with a group of Hostas to enjoy. Beautiful plants indeed.
Best regards

Thanks for sharing your beautiful collection Wolfgang, They are an inspiration to anyone starting a collection of accent plantings, especially Hosta's.
I know it inspired me to start collecting them a few years ago, I now have about 15 and add a few more each year, like bonsai it becomes addictive.

These miniture Hosta' are really very interesting and very stunning, it is just a pity that I have not seen any thing like this here in South Africa's bonsai family. Maybe I should start a collection!!. Keep up the good work, it is most refreshing.
