The Adenium are interesting, but I am curious why they are not considered to be bonsai? Is it because some do not represent a tree form?

As to why they aren´t considered bonsai: I think many people feel that a bonsai should be made from a woody plant -- tree, shrub or subshrub. Basically I fall into that category. That´s why I don´t consider Crassula, Portulacaria or Schefflera to be bonsai in the strict sense. Nevertheless, I don´t exclude them from my collection simply because I don´t consider them bonsai. If they look good, I like them, I just don´t consider them to be true bonsai. If someone wants to consider them bonsai because they have the form of a bonsai, that is their right to have a different opinion.
