I recently visited my teacher, Nick Lenz, and took home a few bonsai and "potensai." The trees (below) are all between 24" and 30" tall. These are all Nick's work; I have done nothing but remove some of the downward-pointing foliage from the moyogi shimpaku.

I hope you enjoy the photos. I am certainly enjoying the trees.

Kind regards,
Andy

File comment: This honeysuckle was collected from one of Nick's friend's yards a few years ago. It is but half of the whole that was removed from the yard. The trunk is 8" and the surface roots 14".

File comment: The trunk on this material is J. virginiana collected from the Sunderland cliffs 15 years ago. The foliage is grafted shimpaku from Wm. Valavanis yatsubusa stock. A single live vein runs up the left side of the fin shari.

Hi Andy,

Very nice! Really nice diversity for your collection. I look forward to seeing them in person.

Howard
