Hello, everyone.
Spring is coming to Seattle after a very long and dark winter; here's a planting that aims to capture the feeling. [Click on the photo for a larger image.]
Best regards,
Carl

There is nothing like the sight of springs first flowers poking their way out of the ground and through the remaining stubborn snow after a long, cold winter.
You have captured that magical moment when one knows spring is gathering it's strength, winter is retreating, and the worst is over.
Beautiful piece, Carl.

Beautiful piece, Carl.
Normally I would prefer an informal stand - or rather some kind of mat- for a kusamono, but in this case the formal stand works magically. First, we can only see its edge, and the rest blends gradually into the background, and second, the shiny surface reminds me of icy water, further strenghtening the contrast between winter and the coming spring suggested by the flower.

Beautiful synergy between the blue flowers and light almost white pot. It is both elegant and thought provoking.
Well done!
